Beauty On A Budget: My Favourite Low Cost Purchases

As a teenager, without a huge amount of money to spend on cosmetics, I need products that are both good quality and a good price. I find that a lot of 'big' beauty gurus overlook the cheaper brands, and go straight for high end products - whereas smaller youtubers and bloggers are more likely to stick to drugstore brands.

I have compiled a list of my favourite low cost make-up pieces, which are affordable for most teenagers.

My favourite pencil eyeliner is ELF's Brightening Eyeliner in black. It's a very simple does-what-it-says-on-the-tin product, that lasts well and applies easily. It comes with a sharpener that works well and only costs £1.50! It is available for purchase here.

My favourite low price powder is Collection 2000's pressed powder. I have it in shade 01, Candlelight. It gives good coverage, and although it looks fairly dark in the container, is fair enough for my embarrassingly pale face. I bought mine in Boots for a mere £1.99, however it is not available on the website. You can buy it from Superdrug for the same price, click here to purchase!

My  favourite mascara by far is MUA's Mega Volume Mascara. When I first saw this in Superdrug, I hadn't heard of MUA before, and I didn't realise what good quality products they produced. I thought that this mascara (which I picked up for £3 at Superdrug) was on a trial price because it was a new brand that I hadn't heard of before; but much to my surprise, it was the standard cost! I bought mine in the waterproof black, but you can also get it in brown. There is a lot of mascara in the bottle (I have applied 2 coats to both top and bottom lashes for 3 months without buying another bottle) and it gives my lashes amazing volume without being clumpy! You can purchase this from the MUA online store for £3 by clicking here!

When I saw this MUA 'Heaven and Earth' palette in Superdrug for £4, I couldn't exactly say no. 12 gorgeous neutral eyeshadow shades at such a good price, by a brand that I had recently found to be amazing... It couldn't stay on the shelf. The eyeshadows are all very pigmented, and feel silky on my skin when applied, they last a long time, and I often get comments about how lovely my eyeshadow looks (which I previously didn't get, even though I wore the same colours in the same way, just by a different brand). I love this palette and use it every day. You can purchase it from the MUA online store by clicking here.

I do not wear foundation very often, and so when my skin looked awful on a day where it really needed to look good, my mum gave me some foundation that had been gathering dust at the back of her drawer (literally...). This foundation is wonderful. It gives great coverage, and looks very natural on my skin. It comes out very liquid, but slowly dries as it is applied - perfect for when you're running late. Since my mum bought this, the packaging and name has changed, and you can see the new product/ purchase it by clicking here.

Maybelline's 'Master Precise' liquid eyeliner pen is one of my latest cosmetics purchases, but since I bought it, I have been in love. This product is a little pricey, costing £5.99 in Superdrug, but it is well worth it. I am useless with liquid eyeliner, but this pen is very easy to handle and usedefinitely worth the money. I've also found that this lasts very well, without going slightly grey during the day. It is very pigmented, to the point where it can be quite tricky to take off at night (but don't let that deter you - at all.). To purchase this from Superdrug, just click here.

Last but not least is my staple lipstick of this spring. It is the most expensive item mentioned in this post, but possibly my almost favourite. Max Factor's Colour Collections Lipstick in 825 Pink Brandy is a lovely pink/ coral colour that looks lovely in spring. I am not normally a fan of bold lipstick, but this is my exception. I often find that coral can be difficult to wear, but with a simple outfit of jeans and a tshirt, this makes the whole look a lot more interesting. I swear by it. It may cost £6.99 from Superdrug (purchase by clicking here) but it is definitely my beauty staple of this spring.

I hope this has been of use to you, and that if you buy any of the products, you enjoy them!

Have any of you tried any of these products? What are your opinions?

I hope you have a wonderful day,
Lovelovelove
